Let’s talk about broccoli!

Whether we want to admit it or not, broccoli is GOOD for us! You can eat it raw, dipped in hummus or dressing, steam it, stir-fry it, roast it in the oven, or throw it on the grill! Although we know it’s good for us, WHY exactly is it good for us?

Benefits of Broccoli:

  • Source of Folate: folate contributes to lowering the risk of strokes, heart disease, treating gum disease and even supporting hair growth! If that’s not enough, it’s also a key nutrient for fetal development.
  • Vitamins A, B6, and K: the stalks of broccoli are filled with these vitamins which help keep your immune system strong, support calcium absorption, and help to build muscle.
  • Vitamin C: there are 82 grams of vitamin C in just one cup of raw broccoli, this is more than eating a whole orange! Basically, this green veggie is the unsung hero to use to boost your immune system.
  • Healthy Metabolism: the fiber in broccoli helps with the digestive track while supporting your metabolism and weight loss.
  • Full of Antioxidants: broccoli is full of antioxidants which can help protect against cancer, inflammation, and protect the body from free radicals.
